Good morning everyone! This week is our SAL for GK projects. Our numbers seem to have been dwindling lately, hopefully just because of the holidays. I'll be continuing on with David. Will anybody be joining in?

I will try to join in. Last weekend I ended up sick and then got sent out into a bush camp so I was out of touch. I got very little done last weekend and hope to get a bit more done this weekend even though the cold I have is hanging on.

Thanks for the well wishes. I am slowly seeming to climb out of this whatever I got. I spent the weekend at home, a lot in bed just taking it easy and sleeping. Still tired, but at least I have a desire to have something other than soup now. I did some slow work on my Magic Potion yesterday so that was nice. Hoping to get a bit more on it tonight after work. Hard to think I started this almost a year ago now and I am almost done 10 pages. With all my time away this winter for work plus some long field days while I am home I am quite happy with that progress. In the time I have actually been home and not in camp I have done over a page a month. Then all my camp projects I have worked on. Calling this past year a win.

I got some good news at work. We talked it over and I only have to go to camp this summer for when I physically have to be there. So only when I need to be there taking aerial photos and maybe a bit around the end of July and into August to help wrap up the herbicide mapping for the crews to do it. The supervisor takes off at the end and switches to another project and the one that takes over is far less experienced so I do help her out with checking work and stuff to make sure it is done right. AND I don't have to stay in our camp, but they will get me a hotel room if they can. I am old enough to be most of the tree planters' Mom and have never been a party animal and I am just incompatible with the kids now. Plus shared kitchens that nobody cleans and my allergies to even touching certain foods makes me a liability in camp. They were so happy I asked if this was possible. So this summer I can actually help work on my house and plant a garden. And my Dad can go away in the summer and not worry about who is taking care of our cats. And I can keep working on Magic Potion more.

I'm glad to hear that you are starting to come around, Tamara. An average of a page a month is what I strive for, and anything more than that is a bonus, so you made great progress with all of your travelling and other projects!

That's great news about your job! I can remember what the lunch room looked like when I was working, so I can just imagine the shared kitchens with a bunch of kids. It sounds like a win win situation all around!
