I can finally see your photos, Debby, and comparing them to your posts earlier in the month, I can see some definite progress in the branches and the leaves! I can imagine that you are in confetti hell in the leaves. It's looking great!

Oohh, this has grown beautifully since your last post, Debby! There are loads more branches and sky, and the building has filled in and grown also. It is lovely to see you stitching on Winter once again!

Hullo Debbie, I am new here! I wanted to ask you about this backstitching that you are referring to. What I it and when is it used. I too would use fabric that I happen to have in my chest of drawers for my needlework. The linen certainly adds that rustic look. I think that it will add something to the effect when finished, even seen some hung without any glass.
I presume that you are using a scroll frame to hold it so as to be able to work on your linen.
I only have Aida since I am a basic level sticher. But I am drawn to the golden kite charts for their detail and superlative quality. And the website says that you only have to do one basic stitch.....But then I read Backstitch ?

Hi Denise, so nice to "meet" you.
I'm a bit confused though. I don't think I mentioned backstitching on this piece. Definitely confetti, but not backstitch.

Thanks for your comments about the linen. I have often wondered if that was a wise choice, but too late now! And you're so right - it does lend a rustic look that I'm going for.

I'm actually stitching "in hand", not on scroll bars. It's not a big piece, so I can do it that way. It does get very wrinkled up, but I hope that will sort itself out when I'm done and I wash it and press it.

I hope you do tackle a Golden Kite piece. They are all so amazing.

    See you soon?
    Debby
